Natural History, Made Wearable.
Some minerals are simply too extraordinary to cut, polish or tame. Matrix & Metal begins there—with crystals, minerals and fossils whose natural formations are the reason I chose them in the first place. Pyrite growing through quartz. Crystals still attached to their matrix. Fossils transformed by minerals over millions of years. Strange, imperfect, remarkable things made by the earth.
I don't design a piece and then find a stone to fit it. I start with the specimen and let it tell me what comes next. Each setting is fabricated individually around it, using metal to support and frame rather than overpower what nature has already created. The earth did the hard part. I'm just giving its treasures a way to be worn.
